6 Dasher the New Creedmoor.

The main idea to take a way from my posting was, If a person has already dropped the cash on a 5.78 Whizzbang. It is built and in his hands telling him he should have had it in 5.78 Scratchyoself, is not going to change a darn thing. He wants loads for a Whizzbang not a Scratchyoself so why post it??? If he was looking for a new toy to build then it is all right to toss other cartridges into the mix. Alex asked everyone to try to get back on track but it was ignored.

Hard to believe the dasher is the top choice in prs. Still mind boggling

It makes perfect sense once you understand the "game" that PRS is. Unstable shooting positions with tight time constraints, lots of wind and the need to make corrections on the fly, which means the need to see your miss from very unstable shooting positions. The less recoil, the better you can see. The better you can see, the better your corrections to stay on plate in a dynamic environment.

It's not really a "Dasher" thing more than it is a 6BR variant thing. I hear more lately about guys wanting to try the 6BRA or 6BR, all pretty much accomplish the same purpose.

I shot my Dasher in a PRS club match today, also have a couple 6BRA barrels. I go back and forth depending on my mood and which one I have brass prepped for. They shoot within 30fps of each other, both with a 105 hybrid.

31.90gr H-4895. 103VT touching, BR primer. Velocity is 3000-3010, in a 8 twist Kreiger. Most of my Dashers like 32.0 to 32.2.

6 Creed is going to offer you the most flexibility in terms of overall performance with ability to get "cheaper" factory ammo.
6X47 is right there.
6 Dasher, I don't think the feeding 100% reliably is all dialed in just yet. Getting closer but not quite there, mag systems are really designed for feeding cartridges with slightly longer body then Dasher. Dasher would be fun, neat cartridge but I'd go 6 Creed (cheaper brass, factory ammo) or 6X47 for what you described for end use and minimize the putzing to have ammo feed smoothly from a DBM.

I’m shooting a 1000yd heavy benchrest gun. It’s only single shot so magazine feeding is not an issue. Very hard to beat on any given weekend.

The Dasher is popular for the same reason the Creedmoor is. It has a COOL sounding name. There is the 6.5x47 that has proven itself to be better then the Creedmoor. For example the 47 has a huge slew of world records. The Creedmoor does not have a single one yet. The Dasher also has completion form the BRX the BRA and the 6BR. But none of them have that COOL sounding name bro. Its all in the name. ;)

The Dasher is popular because it will shoot. Yes there are many variables, but put up against any cartridge in an ideal relay, it’s tough to beat. For that matter, it’s extremely difficult to beat any of the competitive 6mm cartridges in ideal conditions.

All of the variant 6mm cartridges are tough to beat. All depends who is doing the work on the bench. Barrels and Bullets.

The 6mm creedmore has been around for years. (.243) and the 6.5 is called a.260 Rem. Minor difference but really.

Guess if you modify a .308 Win neck, you can call it a creedmore or an Ackley improved. Guess it all depends on the angle. Really.

Just wait until the Dashmoor is released.

And then the Dashmoor Ackley.

Both will be offered in 6mm, 6.5mm and 6.225mm for the extreme tactical minded person.

It’s going to be pretty wild at a PRS match. Guys won’t even know what is the newest thing to spend money on anymore.

Dasher feeding is now 100% reliable. If you have problems your using the wrong bottom metal and mags.

I sure would not make that statement. I have at least one small incident if not two per shoot. Have a BRA shooter in my group that has the same issues. I will say they are not major issues but they do require some finess.
I two different kits and neither worked. Went to a 5rnd mag and an extender and no kit.

What kit/mags are you using, how are you adjusting your feed lips, and with what tool? I have four Dasher mags for my two PRS Dashers. Two for each rifle. They are not reliably interchangeable in between the rifles but once tuned for each specific rifle they work at 100%.
