Thinking about chambering a 22" Dasher barrel and shooting 87 VLD. Does anyone have a similar setup running already? What kind of velocity are you getting?

LRPV,

I have exactly what you are describing. I am running an 87 V-mav at 2950 fps. No where near max but just where it shoots. I use it for coyote hunting. Nothing walks away from this bullet.:D:eek:

Sounds promising, and pretty much what I hoped to hear. I've been playing with a 243 and with a huge amount of H4350 I got the 87vld ran up to 3400 and it doesn't shoot bad but it's better down around 3340. This is out of a 22" barrel though. I could live with a 24" and still probably get close enough.

I have shot 87 VLDs out of a 24" dasher 9.5 twist at 3300+ using 35.6 gr RL 15. These were HBN coated and I was getting the first signs of over pressure but no primer pocket issues. I was using Norma brass.
