6 Dasher Reamer

Question - I have a Savage rifle with a Shilen Match 6BR barrel and recently bought a Brux 6mm blank for a new custom project (non-Savage) I would like to go 6 Dasher on both. If I buy a reamer to have them both chambered identical will I be risking damage to the reamer or barrel on modifying my Shilen barrel? I am recalling back from my machine operator days of damage caused by not enough chip load. Thanks in advance. By the way I will be having a smith do the work but I’m thinking of purchasing the reamer.

Not a direct answer, but I do highly recommend purchasing your own reamer if you expect to have a continuing relationship with your smith. I didn't even have to change my sizing die setting for my last barrel using my reamer. My brass and chamber always match up this way.

Our , gunsmiths, reservations about rechambering a barrel is based on carbon deposits in the heat checking. I'll do whatever the customer wants with his reamer. As far as chip load, it's a non issue in this application.
