6 Dasher no turn neck diameter

Kiffs .2704 is too small in my opinion. There are several threads on here talking about this. Blue box loaded with measure .268-.2685 with 105 hybrid. Brown box will measure .269-.2695 with same bullet. Your blue box will also blow out 10-15 thousand short (1.535-1.540 range)than the brown box.

Perfect reamer for blue box....272 neck, 1.550 overall length. Free bore .125-.150 ...

I am in agreement with FalconPilot.. I ordered a reamer from PT&G (6 Dasher) and it is a .271 neck, 1.55O.A.L. and .155 Freebore... I am still waiting on my Pierce Action (should be here in a week or 3) and my Dasher will commence building. But I made the decision on this reamer after MUCH consultation with several people>> AND from observations stemming from my first Dasher.. However, I have turned my necks for a 1K neck tension fit, using a .266 reamed die..

At Perry last year, I shoot all my old brass, which was turned to measure .265 loaded rounds in my new .273 chamber. That was 8 thous total clearance. Gun shoot great.

there is a big difference in cmp/dcm "accuracy" and benchrest "accuracy"
1/2 moa is good in cmp/dcm and is barely an also ran in benchrest....

discipline managed answers and questions work best....

My Dasher with these cases will consistently shoot in the 1-2" inches at 600, and 3-6" at 1000 yards. That is better than 1/2" MOA. The gun and cases are capable. Most of the time, I'm not.

For that matter, I believe if you'll take the time and do a search, you'll find that several national IBS records have been shot with no turn necks..

the point was not "no turn necks",
but the gross clearance you claim....and the accuracy you claim at the same time.
if you can "consistently shoot in the 1-2" inches at 600, and 3-6" at 1000 yards" with .004 clearance per side,
you are shooting the wrong game.

Geezeee...what a charmer ::) I edited this post as you don't deserve the response..

You're kind of like wrestling with a muddy pig...the pig enjoys it, you are going to get dirty, and you always come away smelling like shit...

Stool, can you please explain how .008" of clearance around the neck harms accuracy?

What is the standard dimension for a no turn neck using blue box lapua brass.
My new cases are .267 loaded my fired cases are .270 with a .2704 reamer That tells me a .2704 reamer is fine. That is .0004 spring back. Larry

+1

The necks job is to release the bullet consistently. The bullet is aligned in the chamber by the throat, which is only a few ten thousandths over bullet diameter. I have tested neck clearance at 1k, so has another poster here. Our results matched. Stool, what were your results?

Just for clarification. I have many groups as stated with the 8 thous clearance brass. After I switched to the 273 neck, I had a lot of fairly new brass that I had turned to run in my .269 chambers, and these loaded rounds measure .265. I'm also shooting no turn brass that gives me 4-5 total clearance, and it does not shoot any better than the other brass. It all shoots with the right right load work up.
