6 Dasher in eliseo R5?

Well i am building a eliseo tube gun in the r5 variant which is for the br based cartridges. I am planning on building it in 6 dasher but would like to hear other peoples experiences with this setup. I will predominantly be shooting tactical matches with it so reliability is huge for me.

i am open to hearing experiences from anyone running a r5 with any of the br based chamberings.

mine will have a 7.5tw 28" light palma 3 groove benchmark barrel and pierce action and huber bottom safety trigger.

I used the action and the tube gun kit and it shot excellent. It was 6.5x47 and it would shoot as small as an inch at 500yds. the dasher is super in my Panda like under .600 at 500 yds. I never used that trigger, but if it were me i would use a bottom safety jewell...........jim

it gives me the option of trying out the 115dtacs that i am shooting out of the 6x47 i currently have. also the owner of benchmark had a special land groove combo made so it wouldn't be as hard on the bullets. the land to groove ratio size wise is 2 to 1 as to have less imprint on the bullet. therefore being less destructive and possibly having slightly higher velocity due to the reduced friction. these are all in theory but i am willing to give it a try. I know ron quite well and if it doesn't work out he will just get a me an 8 twist made.

the jewell is fine however i had one break so i am alittle hesitant to go that route again. plus i love 2 stage triggers and the huber is very close to my sako trg trigger. in tactical matches being field reliable is huge.

I use a 7.8 to 1 with my dasher barrels and i use the 115's DTAC. if would use a Bartlein 5R you can get by with the 8 to1.......jim

I'm running a 6BRX in my R5. NO problems. Gary makes an excellent product and stands by it. I shoot across the course, midrange and long range matches with it. Check out Germans article in the daily bulletin on how to set it up. I'd buy another one in a heart beat.

Good shooting, Jim

I have both an R5 and my barreled action in 6 Dasher on the way and hopefully sooner than a week from now I'll be able to tell you how it functions. My barrel is a Krieger 8tw and I'll be using a Jewell. Should be a fun gun to shoot.

I ordered a RTS from Gary while he was still working on the marine corps rifles, had to wait about 4 months and it was well worth the wait!! a very well thought out and quality rifle! it has a trued rem. action, 28" krieger, med. palma 1-7.5 twist jewell bottom safety in 6XC, it loves 106 grain C/R's, 39.5 grains H4350 its won some long range varmint as well as tactical. I went with the RTS because of the dirt factor in tactical matches you need reliable equipment, and AI mags have not been a problem at all. you'll enjoy that gun.

are the r5 mags less reliable? i would think being single stack centerfeed they would be really reliable, but i haven't heard from to many people on this subject. would love to hear peoples experiences.

just heard from gary and pierce looks like my rifle will be done by end of january'ish. guess i am getting my xmas present alittle later, but definetly worth the wait.

I got my R5 and Dasher barrel just before Xmas and it feeds flawlessly with formed brass but brass with a false shoulder doesn't feed perfectly which is no biggie. The mags are adjutable to ensure feeding. You'll be really pleased with your stock. Gary makes one great product.
