If it's going to have an ejector, it needs to have a Sako extractor and an angled top on the ejection side of the action.

Forgive the admittedly ignorant question, but why is a Sako style extractor and the angled top a requirement?

I`m pretty sure it has something to do with the size of the port (3") and the size of the fired brass (~1.5") not ejecting properly unless these modifications are made.

I have followed this thread and find it somewhat interesting. My long range cartridge of choice is the 6.5 Grendel case necked down to 6mm (the case head dimensions are the same as the PPC) and shoot two different actions which are dual port with ejectors. The actions also have the ejection port opened up to accommodate a 6.5X47 Lapua case which is longer than a Grendel case. The two manufacturers are Jim Borden, Rimrock actions and Bat SV actions and as said earlier both have ejectors. Both actions have to date extracted and ejected all of the Grendel cases without any failures at all. Both actions are stock from Borden and Bat without modifications of any kind. I have trouble understanding all the suggestions on needed modifications, has someone had problems extracting cases and needed to do said modifications. Robert you said”As far as I know there is not a ".308/PPC bolt face" where did you get your information from? Do you have any practical experience with using a .308/PPC bolt face with a PPC case? Almost every custom action manufacturer produces actions to extract both. Your comments can lead one to believe that it is not possible and I for one would like to see your empirical data that shows almost all of the manufactures wrong that they can build an action that will extract both. I shoot long range in California and any shooter at any match will tell you I have never had an extraction problem. That is with 6 different actions, with an extractor and ejector and a “.308/PPC” bolt face. Please enlighten us where you have received such erroneous information? Inquiring minds would like to know where you could come up with such a conclusion.
