I have now finally after a wait of more than 2 years received the barrels, dies, etc to build a 6 Dasher and a 30 BR. The barrels have been chambered and I now have to prepare the cases. I want to make sure I do everything right as any mistake will again mean a prolonged wait.
1. I used a Pacific Tool 6 Dasher reamer with a .269 neck and a .80 throat. I presume I can use my Sinclair Neck Turning Tool with 6mm mandrell to turn the Lapua necks to 12 thou without any further step. Is this correct?
2. I used a Robinett 30 BR reamer from Pacific Tool, but unfortunately do not have the specks. Can anybody help me with the specs and what the neck should be after turning? I will use progressive mandrels to up-size the necks to .308 calibre. Can I then use the Neck Turning Tool and turn the necks to ??? size or should I first follow another step.
3. I have a Sinclair Speciality PPC/BR Flash Hole Deburring Tool and Primer Pockett Uniformer. I have noticed some edges in the flash holes of the Lapua brass, but have read somewhere that you should not ream either the primer pockets or flash holes of the 6BR Lapua brass. Deburring is probably not the same as reaming, but should I use the above tools on my brass?
4. I have done fireforming previously on a 7 Tombi by seating the bullets in the lands. Can I do the same with the Dasher and 30 BR?
I would appreciate any advise.
