6 Comp Match Load with 87g VMax

Im going to try the 87’s in my 6Comp Match. I’m shooting coyotes. What starting point should I start at for the powder charge? Should I start at the same point I would with heavier bullets or can I bump that up to get more velocity? I want a balance between higher velocity and accuracy. Thanks for any help, as I just can’t seem to find load data for 87g Vmax. Thanks!

I know Joe Hendricks had a little load data for some lighter bullets. I'd check the archives, do a search for joesr.

Edit: I looked and could not find it, too many post.

Let us know how this turns out for you. I'm shooting Hornady 105gr HPBT and 115 Dtacs in my 6 Comp Match, but I'm curious how the lighter bullets will do for you. I would suspect that you'll need a faster burning powder than what you have listed.

Keep us posted.
Thanks,
Ross

You won't have enough room in the case for the slow burning powders like H-1000 and Retumbo. I am guessing 4350 will work well.

I would start with mid level 243 data and go from there.
