6 brai load development- EC Tuner

Just got back from the range with starting the 6 brai load development. Barrel is a straight 1.250" x 29" with the a EC tuner screwed all the way in. The barrel had 100 rounds (Lapua 6br fire forming) thru it starting this morning. The weather at the range was 48 degrees in North Texas with a NNW wind at 15mph. Range is at 200 yards 177 degrees from due north. Wind value should be Zero.
Started at 30.6, 30.8, 31.0, 31.1, 31.2, 31.4, 31.6g of Varget +105 Berger Hybrids+ CCI BR-4, jumping 0.010". The 31.1 had a stupid SD of 1 & ES of 2.
Appears time to start playing the tuner phase.

Got back from the 200 yard range. All loads are 31.1g Varget from above. The tuner was screwed all the way in to start with, reading was 20. Couple of fouling shots, then 3 shots at each setting moving up 2 marks each set. Wish I made some additional rounds to test at 23 and at 25 or 0. Discover at 15 that my 1st shot (the high one) was shot at the 13 setting. Adjusted to 15 and shot 3 rounds. Black POI circle is 3/4" diameter

Now that's the kind of in depth testing that makes me want to take the plunge and buy a tuner.

Some nice things happening at 13 and 15 to be sure. Nicely done. Looking forward to the next report.

My advice is set your tuner at a starting point, lock, then craft your load to YOUR standard. Then see if you can improve on it with the tuner. If you have the load developed properly you might see little or no improvement but you will be ABLE to keep it in tune at that point very easily. That is the value of a tuner to keep you competitive, if that is your goal.
