6 BRA

I'm using Alpha 6BRA brass and Berger 109g LR Hybrids. I'm sizing with a SAC die with a .267" bushing and a .240" mandrel. With the Alpha brass the .267 bushing is doing all the sizing and mandrel isn't really contributing anything. My finished brass is very consistent with Neck O.D. of .267" and Neck I.D. of .241 so I'm getting virtually no spring back even though I anneal my brass every time. Not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing. I'm thinking of going to a .265" bushing so that I'm working the brass a little harder and the Mandrel can do it's job. Feedback welcome, I'm always looking to learn from the experience of others. - G
ok any information is good hopefully there's some good feedback thanks

I wouldn’t want to be locked into .0015 bullet hold, especially with a 6 BRA as most shoot better with .003- .005 of hold.
I would use Lapua brass and either a Wilson full length bushing die or Harrell’s #3 FL bushing type die with bushings 2-3-4 & .005 under a loaded round neck OD to test.
interesting. i kinda just got in the habit of using about 1.5. did you find more hold tightened up your es/sd or is it something that only shows on the waterline at 1000yds?

i use a forster custom hone 0.266 on my straight br, and i just on autopilot selected a 0.266 bushing in the bra die.

What reamer are you using? I have that same SAC die and wondering if it will work in the standard BRA chamber.

Yes, for example I have a .265 loaded round neck OD, I’ll run a powder ladder side by side at 500 yards using different size bushings and a .261 bushing shoots half the overall size of a .262 while the node hasn’t moved.

I’m new to 6bra but I’m shooting peterson brass, still fireforming. Iv got a 21st century mandrel, but still need a sizing die. Is it worth it to have a die custom cut because of brass, chamber, etc. or will the Wilson work well enough for everything? Pva chambered the barrel.
