6 BR twist question.

I have a Kreiger #6 sporter going on an XP-100 and it has a 7.5 twist. I want to chamber it in 6BR and shoot 87grain V-Max to 105grain bullets. How will the 7.5 twist work with the 87 grain V-Max bullets ?

My 243AI has a 1 - 7.5 Twist and shoots the 80 and 88 gr. bullets just fine with VV-N135 powder.

So Bill, do You prefer 7.5 to 8? My BIL Got a 7.5 and immediately went back to His 8 twist for 103’s and up.

To be quite honest I really like the 7.5 in my rifle. I don't believe I would trade it for 8 from what I've seen so far. However, I am able to run them faster than the 6BR would I'm certain so not sure how much difference that makes.

I forgot to mention that the barrel on my XP will be 16" long and I will most likely lose 300 fps than if it was in a rifle length barrel. That being said how does that fit into the equation ?

Not sure about losing that much speed. Maybe somebody else may be able to shed some light on that for you. My 243AI barrel is 26 inches.
