I am in the middle of a 6br rifle build for a hunting rig. Here are my specs.
rem 700 trued up
Shilen match stainless 10 twist
HS varmint stock
shilen 1.5lb trigger
Pretty basic build and nothing fancy. I am going to use this rifle mainly for coyote hunting. I havent had any experience with 6mm 10 twist barrels and i am not 100% sure what bullets i should start with. I guess i was thinking 75 or 87grain v-max. Any of you fellas have any suggestions? Havent had much luck with nosler bullets, but i may give them another shot. I have also herd mixed feeling about match hollow point sierras and berger bullets for coyotes. I used to have a rem 700 in 243 that i shot 75gr v-max with, and those were awesome hunting or coyote bullets, so like i said, i will start there. Lee

I have 100 of them fowlers for ya if you want them...
The best bullet i have ever used on them dam yotes was
a 52gr Gentner match bullet..

I have a 6br with an 8 twist barrel and I shoot a lot of squirrels with the 75 gr VMAX. The accuracy is very good and the accuracy is incredible.
I haven't shot a yote with it yet but the other varmints come unglued with over it.

I agree that the 75gr VMAX is a very good bullet for varmint hunting with the 6mmBR. I consistently get 3175 fps using 32.0 grains of VARGET and i'm seating them just touching the lands. They will group consistently into .300 at 100 yards if not better. They shoot faster than the 87's, still buck the wind pretty good and literally turn varmints inside out. I use them to shoot groundhogs out to 400-500 yards and they hit like a buzz saw. I think they are the perfect compromise for a flatter trajectory and wind bucking ability and hard hitting power.

Both Vmax are good bullets, But, My pick is the 70gr Sierria Blitzking, CCI BR4, and stiff load of N135.

I also think the 75 v-max is an excellent coyote bullet. I sure hope the 10 twist shilen i have will shoot them well. I am going to have my chamber throated for them. Anyone think the 10 twist will be to fast for excellent accuracy? Walt Berger told a friend of mine that the best accuracy comes from a twist that just does stabilize the bullet. I had an 8 twist rock river that shot 55gr bullets pretty well, so i dont think there will be any trouble. Thanks Lee

My 10 twist loves 65 V-max and RL-10X

Was going to try 75's but the shop was out and only had 65's- the 65's shoot so well I never bothered trying the 75's

my heavy bullet load is the 85 speer SPBT wich has the same horizontal POI as the 65's there just a bit of vertical difference so I dont have to worry about changing scope settings for shots under 300 yards if I change loads

Lee, My 8tw shoots the 75gr Vmax's into the high .2's to mid .3's, but my 14tw will consistently produce sub .250 five shot groups with them. You might want to give the Varmint/Match Grade FB 88gr Bergers a try they shoot lights out in both my 8tw and my friends 9-1/4tw BR's
