6 BR pistol

I had an XP100 built into a 22BR. 15.5" barrel length. Barrel started out as a Hart HV 1:14tw. I had a few thousand Remington 52gr BR bullets and used a bunch of them up in that pistol. It was a tight neck chamber. That thing was incredibly accurate. I can't tell you how many one hole groups I shot with that thing. I would load it up with 40gr Nosler ballistic tips for woodchucks. The terminal performance was remarkable. Sold it to a gentleman in Wyoming. He wrote me a few months after using it and raved about how much fun it was to use. I remember many years ago shooting against someone in a match with one built very similar to mine. He didn't win but he certainly didn't finish last either. I hope you enjoy the heck out of that Savage. I am sure it will be much fun.

I had 2 7BR XP 100 20 years ago. I sold the last one to buy the new hunter model, I did not know they had stopped making the XP's. That is one gun I wish I had back. The XP's are harder to find than the Striker. I just fell into this Striker at LGS, A guy traded it in as I was standing there.

Do you plan on leaving the pistol scope on or using a rifle scope? If you plan on using a riflescope, which make and model do you intend to use?
I am building the same basic 6br Striker as yours and intend on installing a riflescope but have not decided what I want yet.

I have had many long range Pistols. For me, I like a pistol scope on them. I will stay with a pistol scope. I would say this gun would shoot with a rifle, if it had a rifle scope on it. The recoil is not bad at all, but I think I would want a brake on it, if I were using a rifle scope

Any advice as to which riflescopes to choose from to shoot from 600 to hopefully 1000 in the future?

I have several of the XP & HSP versions of specialty pistols, hand cannons or hand rifles actually that is all I shoot now. Calipers range from 223 up to 300 saum and all of the xp' swear rifle scopes now. The HS's still have the Leupold 2.5x8 on them. I use the mark 4 4.5x14 LR/T on the xp's all have muzzle brakes. I just went back to the rifle scopes due to wanting longer distance shooting. Accuracy all are half inch or better shooters
Welcome to the world of specialty handguns, it can be addicting

I have a striker in a 6 BR with zero FB and it shoots lights out. Ive tested three powders in it so far and all three shot in the 1's at 100 yards
