6 br not shooting as good

I found out the problem was the 105 amax's . shot some 107 mk's and 105 lapuas today for the first time and the worst group was a 1/2 inch group . The best was .3 with the lapuas . That's something I can work with . Going to try different seating depths this week end and a few more loads . Thanks guys

And if these ideas don't work - put a different scope on it - occasionally, scopes do "quit".
A good pillar bedding job should put an end to possible torque values - anything less - than a properly pillar bedded action, is, "a wreck waiting to happen." :( RG
you are so right great advise
Do you still bed your rifles even with an aluminum bedding block.

For some reason some of my guns loved the old Amax bullets but hate the new amp jackets.

action screw torque! is kind of like tuning your rifle.
example/ my savage ft 2bolts at 48inche lbs and rear at35. SNUG your primary bolts and set a magnetic dial indicator on the barrel near forearm and the point touching the stock, and now if your bedding job is good watch if the indicator changes when torqued starting with ft to rear my last bedding job didnt move at all when torquing the ft 2 bolts but at 40 inche lbs at rear screw it started to move,,, a noticable amount, not all bedding material is the same. you can check yours in about 15 mins if you have the tools, good luck

How is the crown? Had a shilen barrel in 6.5 creedmoor that shot good, in the .3s. I noticed that it wasn't shooting as good about the same time my buddy wanted a creedmoor(1/2moa acceptable). Sold it to him, but he wanted it threaded for his can. Dropped it off at the smith's, told him thread for a gemtech 5/8-24 and cut a new 11* crown. Never did like the shilen prefits crown, but it shot decent. Got the rifle back and tested it with old load first group from a cold clean bore, prone off bipod and beanbag was .225" 5 shot. Backed that up with a .284". Had a 308 barrel that shot damn good, kinda slowly fell off, Smith scoped it. Slight carbon ring to clean out and crown was kinda wore. He freshened up the crown and short stroked the carbon out and it went back to being a hammer.
