6 BR Norma Questions and Loads

Is there a velocity range that the 6 BR loves? i.e. Magic Velocity where everything just works?

I am limited to VV Powders, in particlular have about 10 lbs of VV N150 lying around. What loads should I try with the 90 gr SMK and Lapua Scenars, and the 105 Berger and Lapua Scenar.

This is out of a Savage F10 with a LW 26 inch barrel

The only other powders I can get a hold off are the Vectan range.

VV N150 is going to be a tad to slow for the little 6BR case.
I've had various degrees of success with N540 and the 105VLD's,start at 29.0 grains and work up)with the 90s you could probably start at 30.0 and work up. A lot of guy's swear by Reloader 15, but it didn't work for me. My go to powder is always Varget in the 6BR.

Varget et al would have been my choice as well. However being based in France the only powders available are VV or Vectan.

I have used N140 and N540. N140 is very close to Varget burn rate. N540 will give you more speed.I am like Danny, I use Varget and RL15. It is hard to get VV powders in my area, on one stocks it. I would say N150 would work. Just start low and work up.

I can reccomend 540...I have used it and it is just as good as Rx-15...It is just not available here in the states and if you can find it$$$$$,,I cant afford it..hahaha......but over there I wuld try 30gr and work up to 31 with 105 bullets...Roger

VV is fairly easy to find, and comparitively affoardable. Bout 69 Euros per KG.

Whish we could get Varget or other Hogdgon powders... but its Vectan or VV. Nothing else...
Simillarly for bullets: Privi, Lapua, or Sierra. If you want to pay through your nose.. Berger,but very limited availability).

My wife's 6mmBR loves VV550 with the107 SMK and 105 Berger BT. Try 31 grains and I believe you will be happy.
