6 br / Dasher brass ejection question.

Just shot a few groups with my factory Rem 700 action with Remage setup in 6br.

Mine doesn't eject very well. 9/10 or so get loose in the action on top of the next round (it's a repeater).

Do I need to send my bolt or entire action/rifle to get this fixed as I'd like 100% the cases to eject as I'm used to with the longer cartridges.

Any suggestions? Thanks.
You could try what Alex Wheeler suggested in post #12, modify the ejector so that it can protrude a little farther past the bolt face. Too far can cause feeding issues. It should be OK to allow the ejector to protrude out to flush with the front of the bolt nose. If this doesn't do it, you can send just your bolt for an M16 extractor conversion.

Well, I wanted to thank Alex and Roeder for reminding me to read post #12.

A little file work on the ejector and the br cases eject just right.

Thanks!

I was about to post an explanation of this, until I got to post 12. Alex isn't wrong much. He thought he was once, but he was mistaken.

Do away with the ejector. Sort of odd that an XP 100 will eject those little 221's

A lot of small cartridge custom rifles, IE.... Br and PPC, don't have ejectors.

Man! I didn't know that. Some custom receivers came without ejectors and factory receivers didn't have them after they were removed. Most of the shooters use them now as it helps when you machine gun your rounds down range to beat a condition change.

My 6BR is a repeater hence the need for proper case ejection.
I prefer an ejector with my single shot PPC also so I'm not reaching/flicking the case out each time, just my preference in addition to Mr. Lambert's point as well.

I`ve never tried this before, so i have to ask.....

Will a .473 bolt Remington eject the 6 br / Dasher case with the factory ejector / extractor?????

Single shot action, so i don`t care about the feeding aspects.

Phil.

The OP has two choices. Tune the ejector so it works, or do away with it.

He stated he was not interested in anything but "single shot action"

It's rather obvious that fixing any feed or ejection issues, is necessary, if he needs more than that.

My apologies as I thought your post was in reference to my rifle. I've hacked into the thread and got it off track a bit which was not my intention.

No problem, easy to do. Thinking about it I was not specific as to who I was responding to. No problem, we're good:)
