We can all call it what we like. I too never warmed to toms naming, but know many have no problem. I call it the 6BR Ackley and everyone knows what Im talking about. Its a great case for sure.

I have been a fan of Ackley's work since I was first made aware of it 20 some years ago. His concept was brilliant. He was a pioneer in wildcatting. We have benefited greatly from his work

Even our 6BR benefited from his work as it has a 30 degree shoulder unlike most prior cases that which were 20 degrees or so.

6BR Ackley or 6BR-AI. Give Ackley his due.

It also aligns with the convention that a factory 6BR cartridge can be fired in the chamber.
