6-6.5x47 Lapua busing sizes

I want to build a 6 x 47 Lapua and will be ordering the Redding 6.5x47 Lapua "S" dies.

Questions: What are the recommended busings I need to neck the 6.5 x 47 Lapua brass down to 6mm?

Any information would be appreciated.

I need to replace my key board...........I have to hit the "H" hard on the key board in order for it to take.

Bushings...............

I think you would be better off buying a 6x47 Lapua FL sizing die from Forster, or Redding and just running the 6.5x47 into it with one pass... A bushing die will not close the neck all the way to the shoulder... If you decide to use the S die you'll need to know the neck size of the reamers thats used on the chamber before you'll be able to find the correct bushing...

Plus one to Preachers post, I bought the Forster FL die, and took the expander ball/stem out and sized the 6.5 brass to 6 MM, then used a Sinclair 6MM expander mandrel on the cases for my no turn neck 6X47 with a .273 neck.

Once they are fire formed do you resize with a bushing die? If so what size bushing do you use?

Thanks, Jason

Jason, yes I use a Redding "S" match neck die with a .269 bushing installed giving me about .0015 neck tension. This is for once fired brass. Then I FL size from then on also annealing the cases as well.

Redding has 6x 47 Lapua "S" dies. Cat. III #77489 FL and #71489 Neck. You need to measure your loaded shell for the proper bushing size. Redding web page will tell you how to choose.

I have Redding Type S Match Bushing Neck Die Set that I use for my no turn neck 6x47L.

I run the new 6.5x47L brass though the body die then though the neck bushing die with a .268 bush.
Start with the neck die high and sneak up on a crush fit so the cases fireform correctly.
Load and shoot.

After they are fired just neck size load and shoot!
