6.5x47L with H4895

[Howfar]

Anyone used this powder with the 6.5x47? Burn rate appears close
to others being used, but can't find any info. Have some Berger 130's, 140's to try out if it's possible.

10 years old but the www doesn't care when searching for load data.

Quickload calculates...

130 Berger VLD
2.750" COAL (shorter than optimal for safety margin)
26" barrel
H-4895
MAX/near MAX = 35.5 gr = 60,357 psi = 2,838 fps

140 Berger Hybrid
2.750" coal
34.5 gr = 59,503 psi = 2,721 fps.

H-4895 is a great across the board powder but h-4350 and several others might be a little better in the 6.5x47. Ive been loading the last three days for it. Ck out the loads on the home page article for that cartridge...great info..good luck

My RBros built 6.5x47 runs the 130 Berger hunting at 2950 fps out of a 26” barrel. H4350 and the load RBros developed is all I’ve shot. Don’t think I could improve on it.
