6.5x47 Trigger Suggestions?

I'm down to the last piece of the puzzle for the build im working on, which is my first build. It is on a 700 action. I was considering a jewell trigger but from what i have read it wouldn't be best for my application due to malfunctions from dirt/dust. I was looking at the Timney Calvin Elite trigger and was wondering if anyone had any experience with one and how well they like it.

i'm open to other suggestions as well, like i said this is my first build so i don't know what all is best.
please supply valid reasons for any options

as far as usage for the rifle, it will be used for some (limited) long range shooting in which i would be prone not off a bench. i will use it for varmint control during times when the 22-250 isn't quite as fitting i.e. extra windy or over 500 yards. i also plan to use it for deer eventually (not in IL obviously) but i have access to land where rifles are permitted for deer hunting

The Kelbly is a simplistic trigger that is nearly bullet proof. IF and when my Jewells finally bite the dust, they will be replaced with Kelblys..

Mathew,
With all I have read about about Jewell triggers and having them on all my rifles. I have never had one fail.
The info you get about them failing is from what I call Keyboard Commandos.
As long as you prevent and oils, cleaning solution from backing down into your trigger and clean it with the accepted way. A little bit of lighter fluid and the blow it dry your gtg. Thats what bore guids are for.
Any and all triggers will fail if oil and what ever gets in and combines with dust and dirt to jam them up.
Go with a Jewell and don't look back.

All my rifles have a Jewell Trigger.
I will Buy a Jewell, again and again and again, etc.........

does anybody have experience with both the Calvin Elite and a jewell? was wondering if somebody could supply a direct comparison between the two form experience

not that i see myself ever spending $400 on a trigger, but has anyone had any experience shooting a huber concepts trigger? is it something that would be worth saving the extra money? what advantages would a huber have over a timney or jewell?

I like the Shilen triggers, but depending on what generation of trigger you are replacing, you may have to get a safety kit to work with it. if you are replacing the old style Remington trigger, you can use its safety parts on the Shilen trigger.

I bought a Timney CE for my daughter's Model 7 when I could not get a Jewell. After adjusting to get rid of an occasional gritty take up, it isn't bad at 10 ounces. I won't replace it with a Jewell now, but I do wish one was available when I needed it.

All but one of my rifles have Jewell's, and though I don't drag my rifles behind my truck or throw them off a mountain, I have never had one not work.

Jewell triggers are great. Stop reading bad things about them. Buy one if you don't like it sell it. You'll get back about 80% of the original cost here on this forum. Hard to beat their reputation.

There is no comparison, get the Jewell.

CG Extreme Model 22. I have Jewell's on a few different guns and really like them a lot. I have the CG 2 stage on one and I think it is a blast to shoot prone with. Super adjustable ( you can take the 1st stage right out if you choose ) and real crisp. I like taking up the 1st stage, sitting on it and kind of getting in " the zone " then breaking the shot. I use that gun mostly killing critters at varied distances ( 243AI ). Take a min. and give them a look. Just another quality option to consider.. 8)

Here's another vote for the CG. It is by far and away the best 2-stage trigger that I have ever used, and I've tried all the other goo ones (I think).

If you are looking for a single stage-
Jewell,Kelbley,Shilen.

If you are looking for a 2 stage
CG Xtreme,AndynBix.

In no particular order!

Timney or Huber shouldn't be a consideration unless you want knock off....... junk!
