6.5x47 starting loads for 130s with H4350 & H100V?

I'm about to do load work ups for my new 6.5x47L with 130gr Berger AR Hybrids. All I have in large quantity is H4350 & H100V. I'm looking for starting loads and some absolute max loads for pressure testing with those powders. I'm going to be doing 3 shots in .5gr increments looking for pressure then 5 shots in .2gr increments looking for accuracy nodes. Thanks all

I have been shooting the 130s with 4350 for 3 years. the 1st barrel had 2000rd through it. my second barrel has 2100 rds through it. I load 40grs H4350 , +.010". velocity at 2670, es 15, sd 8. this last week end at 300yds I had a 1.015" group. This was 1 of 4 groups. The largest was 1.33". I haven't shot in 4 months. This is the load I have stuck with for some time. Not super fast but good enough for me. Good luck

I have two different 6.5X47 rifles. Both have Bartlein barrels at 22" and 26". They both shoot well at 39.5-40.8 H4350 and the Berger 130. I am using CCI 450 primers. Some people push them into the 42.5 range, but I live in Texas and it gets hot as hell here. I am not a competitive shooter but I shoot them plenty accurate to 1000 yards.

Just an update/fyi.... I had 2 nodes of accuracy for H4350 and 130gr Hybrids, 40.5grs and 41.8grs. 40.5 was VERY accurate, but 41.8grs gave me 2950fps and it shot really good(.3"ish at 100yd). H100v gave great velocity but couldn't find and accuracy node

All I shoot at this moment is the 6.5Lapua.. If you were shooting 140gr Hybrids I would say without a doubt 40gr H4350 is the load... That nodes at 39.8-40.3 with many lot # of powder in my gun.. Also a high node at 41.6-41.8 area... In my Bartlien 27in Heavy Palma barrel I get 2,734 avg. fps. after 1,300 rounds down the tube with the 40gr H4350 load.. At slightly over 1,500 rds I only have between .020-.030 extra length forward on my lands.. Is that good??? If so, I use the KG Industries cleaning system and I'm light on the KG2 Bore Polish only using every 500-600rds or so... You'll love the 6.5 Lapua!! Brass last forever!!

strait shooter,,,,your bbl wear is excellent ,,,you can expect .001-.003" of wear per 100 rds,,,you are getting 15 x .002" =.030",,,,keep on doing whatever your doing,,,Roger

Great thanks!! When I first got this gun my OAL measurement (empty case with bullet pushed into the lands) was 2.138 to ogive and now is 2.166 after just opening my 3rd 500ct. box of 140gr Hybrids.. So I'm around 1,500 rd count give or take.. I also use a T.K. Tool Company Barrel Saver Rod Guide if that matters.. I shoot in PRS tactical comps and maintain at least .5 moa 3 shot groups on worst days possible.. Most good groups would be no greater than .3 on good days.. I really like the KG Industries cleaning system and clean alot but not with the bore polish product.. I do use the bore polish every 500 or so rounds although.. I've heard that this T.K. Tool Company barrel saver really works, because of the extra long internal sleeve it utilizes.. It supposed to keep the cleaning rod from bending within the barrel preventing extra wear. Other than that I use the felt cleaning pellets (up to 20 or more) per cleaning an I clean almost every time I shoot depending on when my next match is (I always try to keep my barrel slightly dirty before any match for first round hits.) Also I've mainly shot H4350 down this tube with a couple hundred rounds full of Varget.. I feel the Varget would have been harder on the barrel. If anybody is reading this that may know my freebore length with 2.166 touching lands (140gr Hybrid 6.5 Lapua) please feel free to post..

I SHOOT 40.2 GRS H-4350 W/130 VLD'S 2850 FPS OUT OF A 27'' SHILEN SELECT MATCH WITH BUGHOLE RESULTS GREAT CARTRIDGE!!!!!!

That's about right!! I bet if you went to 140gr hybrids with H4350 you would bug hole arounf 39.9-40... The node starts at 39.8 and stops at 40.2-3 area... This is at 700 above sea level and 2,734avg speed 140gr... Plus around 1,200 loads down the pipe at the time... What's your throat wear now compared to first day on the lands??? Have you thought about moving to the 6x47 version??? We would get better shooting I feel with that combo... 3,150fps 105gr hybrids and .100 freebore with a Hawk Hill or Bartlein barrel at 26-28in... .237 bore would be better if velocity is your goal... George Gardner plus everyone failing to achieve 3,150fps in a 6mmCreedmoor had to figure the .237 bore thing out... I'm wondering if a certain cut angle at the lands would also out perform others also??? Anyone have any opinions here??

You can get 100-150fps higher with that H100v... I heard it wasn't sensitive either in the temps I'm in, here in Bama.. I'll get you some start numbers.. For the H4350 I would start at 38gr and try to test to 42gr if no pressure shows... Use .4 increments on a ladder test to test for pressure, then some variate on the OCW test is what I do.. Depending on your freebore 42gr may not fit but just be smart... Your load will be with 40gr-40.7 area... With H100v use the same ladder test to find max.. You maynot reach max with it because it's slightly slower burning so you may run out of room in the case..
