6.5x47 Lapua Reamer

I’m about to have a 22” 6.5x47Lapua built, and I’m down to deciding on a reamer. I’m planning to shoot 130 gr AR Hybrids, and maybe 124 gr Hammers. Looking for advise on what reamer and freebore would be best. BTW, this will be a hunting rifle.

Mine is a PT&G 813294 and I shoot 123, 142 SMK’s as well as the 124 HH. They all fit in a 700 SA box. I do not have a print for it.

Look for a 0.293" neck or larger. I have a 0.166" freebore and that's a touch short for the 140s but maybe good for the 130s. For a hunting rifle, I like having more neck engaged so that banging the gun around doesn't tweak the bullets as easily. I'd probably look at a shorter freebore in the 0.150" range.

Check this post out for where some of the heavys end up in the neck with the 0.166" freebore:

Here is my load with the 124 HH. This is .080 out. My 123’s are .01 out and I never changed my die. Just happened to be where the HH landed. 2158B19D-ECD0-4EE7-90E0-F64AB994E62B.jpeg
