6.5x47 Lapua Questions?

Just had a 6.5x47 Lapua built, do any of you run a .123” freebore, with a Berger 130 gr AR Hybrid? If so what is your Max COAL?

Next question? Do any of you run Shooter’s World Precision Rifle powder with the 130 AR Hybrid?

no help but first 6.5 was a 109 FB shot 123 Lapua’s lights out new reamer is 123 I’d start 10-25 off seems that bullet likes a little jump

I'm unsure of why you're asking about max COAL. Are you asking because you're trying to fit them in a magazine? If you're trying to find the lands, use Alex Wheelers method from his website.

Ive never used that powder. I'm sure it'll work well if it's similar to varget or slower like H4350, RL 16, etc.

I was asking if anyone shot that combo and what their COAL was, because I didn’t have my rifle in hand yet. I’ve sense gotten my rifle and found what I needed. There was never a concern about fitting in a Mag since a .123” FB would put you under 2.80” regardless.

Find your lands first and then seat 20 thou off to find your powder charge by whatever method works for you.

Or go the other way around, I think most find their optimum charge weight before they worry about seating depth.

Anyway, COAL varies significantly from bullet to bullet, as the tips are often not uniform, nor is the bullet a uniform length. Adjust your seating depth based on your case head to bullet ogive measurement. That will be a very consistent measurement across different bullets of the same lot.

Don't concern yourself what other shooters get as far as a base to ogive measurement with the same bullet and freebore that you have. It won't be correct for your chamber. The reamer that was used to chamber and throat the barrel, your dial calipers, your method of measuring the base to ogive using various tools, and how much pressure you put on your dial calipers vs someone else will all vary.

Make the measurements yourself, you likely won't find any useful measurement from anyone else.
