6.5x47 Lapua Primer Selection

What primers are you guys running in your 6.5x47 lapuas? I accidentally picked up a 100 pack of CCI BR2 the other day thinking i had grabbed BR4's. Will these still work for me? It also got me wondering what everyone else has had success with

Seriously though I used to shoot a 6.5x47 quite a bit and my rifle liked all of the small rifle primers made by CCI including the white box military ones. I couldn't tell a nickel difference in any of them.

ok i didn't think the BR2s would work but wanted to make sure.

it seems that the majority of people are running the CCI 450s in their 6.5 lapuas

There is not "one" primer for anything. I mainly use CCI 450's but also test BR4 and 205GM because I don't want to leave any accuracy on the table.

Well it's about time somebody came up with the "correct" answer! Thanks Erik..

Maybe nothing then again, one of three things will happen, groups will either stay the same, get smaller or get larger.
My 47L shot lighter loads of H-4350 best with a BR-4 and max loads cut group size with 450's, I just feed it what it likes.

The Dasher typically runs 7~10 gr less powder with similar bullet weights . Although there may indeed be little difference at 70° when temps fall the larger charges in 47L can show larger E.S.with a std small rifle primer. This was the reasoning behind David Tubb using a large rifle primer in his 6XC.

Sometimes the green box is worth trying too.

I can only "stock" so many different kinds you know! ;)

my 123 Scenar load used the WW WSR and SDs were always less than 5 and 2-3 a couple times for 5 rounds,,

hit 10 eggs in a row at 300 twice with that load and the 4 inch swinger at 800 would take a beating regular,,
