6.5x47 Lapua or 308 learning to shoot at 600-800yards ?

RV is remington varmint contour 1.250 at breech ,.830 at muzzle about 26" long..about 4.5 lb in weight..again thank you very much,really looking forword to this 6.5 x47 build..~Danny

Good info on the 6.5x47, my McGowan barrel loves 120 smk's and 39.3grns of RL15. I have never tried it at 1K yds, but 600 does pretty good! I might try some 123 smk's! I havn't had much luck with 130 Bergers, 28" 8 twist barrel.

Picked the gun up 1/27,looks really good barrel finished at 27".mounted up the sightron S111 6-24,loaded 10 123 amaxs w37.0 varget ,throat coal is 2.740 made them 2,730..I do have some cratering on the primer,bolt being sent off monday morning to Gre-Tan rebushed,broke in with 7 rds,cleaned up quick,did finish the 10 rds,will keep you guys posted..there is hardly any recoil at all..~Danny
