6.5x47 Lapua on a Savage

I want to install a Shilen ready-to-go barrel on a Savage bolt gun. in 6.5x47 Lapua. If I got a .308 Savage will the new cartridge fit/feed OK? Boltface, magazine length???

You should be good to go. The case head diameter is the same and they are both a short action cartridges. Go for it.

I took a Savage 308, put on a 6.5x47L barrel and want 6.5x47 barrels on all my guns now!

Yes, this is the easiest conversion around. Fits beautifully in mag even with longer projectiles and same bolt head. It is fast becoming one of the most popular conversions.

It'll work just fine.I just did it to mine but I lost the barrel nut and shouldered the barrel.
