6.5x47 Lapua Help

What size bushing are yall using in your RCBS gold medal bushing dies for a no turn neck in 6.5x47 Lapua? Thanks in advance for the help

The basic math is bullet diameter + neck thickness X 2 - .003.

.264 + .026= .290-.003= .287

It's a place to start.

Since it can be hard to measure neck thickness accurately, the other method is to just measure several loaded round necks. Take the smallest one and subtract 0.002". You will get about 0.001" springback, so left with 0.001" tension. This is good for benchrest, but for hunting with cartridges in a magazine, you want to go 0.001" tighter. Or in other words subtract 0.003" from your smallest loaded round neck.

Get a .288" bushing.

not to "high-jack this thread" in a repeater rem 700 would .003 (.287) tension be enough for a 6.5x47 from a magazine?~Danny
