6.5x47 Lapua and 130 Bergers

Anyone perfected a load using 130 Bergers in their 6.5x47 Lapua, I have a 28" 8 twist barrel!

41g h4350 cci 450 shoots great in both my rifles. 38.4g rl 15 will also shoot but I'm not a fan of reloader powders. good luck this caliber is not picky it will shoot most medium burn rate powders well. try varget also..

somewhere between 40 and 41.5gr of h4350 you should find a sweet spot.

i use 40.5 .010" into the lands with CCI BR4's and get excellent accuracy at a touch over 2900fps with a 30" barrel.

you will probably want to use a primer like the BR4' or 450 as they have harder cups.

RL17 & CCI 450s also shoot great with the 130 VLDs in my 6.5x47s - you should be able to get over 2900fps with no strain using RL17.

I have a 25.5" Krieger. H4350 bested RL15 and Varget for accuracy in my gun. 42.1 was my load but that only got me 2860fps.

I have been having good luck with 38.6 grains of Varget in a 30'' Bartlein 5R Barrel and Bat Action.

(This is on the hot side so work up and also a .165 fb)

Runs 2980fps and takes between 10.125-10.6 moa from a 100 yard zero at 600 pending weather.

Tried H4350 at 42 grains but it is a compressed load and lost 50 fps but it did shoot good at 100 but never tried it at 600.

I have 14 firings on my first 23 test cases and they still shoot 5 shot groups at 600 in the low 2'' range and the primer pockets are still tight!

My 25" Broughton likes 40.5 h4350 for 2960 fps.

My load is 40.5 gr H4350 in a 28 in Kreiger 1-8" for 2905 fps. I also load 39.9 H4350 for 2848 fps for 600 yd, mid-range prone which is my other accuracy node

41.2, cci 450's, Lapua brass with H4350 seems like the load for my gun! I am shocked, I tried RL17, RL15 (which many said this was gonna be the powder to use!), Varget, and finally, I stocked up on H4350.

Again, McGowen 28" 8 twist barrel! Now the above is for 130 Bergers only, This gun loves 39.3 RL15 with 120 SMK's, go figure! Or help me figure this one out!

I have shot better groups than this, but this is the only picture I have with 130's

Varget and the 130s have done the best for me.

I have a 24" Shilen SM doing nice with 123 scenars, RL 15 @ 38g. Chrony today at 2930's fps, Im Only interested in 300y plus. 30.0g Varget looked promising also, pushing it to 2951. I have a 9 twist so I think the 130 VLD is my best bet at 1K. I have heard the 123-130gr pills work as good as 140's in 6.5x47. Can anyone give me some encouragement. I have it dialed into 1.25" - 1.50" (5 shot ) groups at 300y. I just shot a 300y match 446-21X I think it shoots as good as either of my 2 BR's at mid range sofar. Only has 210 rounds todate.

Either Varget or RL-15. RL15 can be more temperature sensitive than Varget, but if you keep backed away from the max, you shouldnt experience problems.

A good baseline load based on multiple people who use the 130 Berger with the 6.5x47 Lapua is 37.6 with your max determined how your throat is cut.
