6.5x47 and 107 smk loads requested

I just picked up 1000 107gr 6.5mm Sierra matchkings at a great price and figured they’d make good practice, plinking, varmint bullets. I want to start working up a load for them and so I was hoping some of you would have some pet loads for the cartridge/bullet combo. I have varget but prefer to save that for matches. Other powders I have on hand are H4895, cfe 223, ramshot tac. I’d love to find a load with h4895 if I could. Thanks for any info!

38.0-38.5 Varget worked very well in a 260 Rem, would think 38.0 of H-4885 would be a VG starting point.

I worked to 42.0 gr of cfe223 and 37gr of H4895 with the 107 smk last Saturday. Cfe223 gave excellent velocity (3150 at 42gr) I good accuracy, down to about .5” 5 shot groups.
H4895 topped out at 2950 fps at my top load and accuracy was just starting to tighten up there with a .534” group. I’m thinking the 107 smk may like to get pushed pretty hard for best accuracy.

I ran 35.3gr of Benchmark and CCI450 behind the SMK 107’s in my 6.5x47. In my 24” 1:8T I seated the 107’s between 0.020” to 0.030” which produced 5 shot groups at <.5MOA @ 100 yards consistently in this range. Average velocity was approximately 2950 FPS. I saw no signs of pressure but start low and work up to what you feel is safe for your gun.

I have worked up a load a few weeks ago and tested them at 200yds. The load is 107 mk 35.0g of r-15 cci 450m , lapua brass, I don't have the velocity, but the bullets printed 1/3 minute. this is a 200yrd load for nmc in my 6.5x47 bolt gun and for use on the 300 meter game on the 200yd reduced target at Fairfax va, range. The recoil is lite and a pleasure to shoot, my long range , 600yds and 300 yds load is with 123 smk at 36.1 of varget, at 2920 fps. Good luck, davek.

Nice! thanks for the info folks. I worked up to a great load with H4895. 37.5gr which is slightly above max sierra load printed this group at 300 yards. Right at 1.5" this was at 0.010" off of max jam.
