what is the max length for the 6.5x284 brass using lapua and what is the trim to length? thanks in advance ...

Forget "trim-to-length", and get one of the Sinclair Chamber Length Gauges, page 39 of their 2010-A catalog, item# G-264 at $6.95 and reusable. With it you will be able to measure the actual length of your chamber, and trim, (or not) accordingly. Chamber lengths will vary by a very large amount, depends on the dimension on the chambering reamer that was used. The loading manual "advice" to trim .010" than max case length is poor information, since it has no relation to your (there's that word again) chamber.
