6.5x284 Norma Load Questions

Will do. I ordered the headspace gauges i need. I'm not as worried now. Strangely the cases today looked much better. It was a bit cooler so maybe that is why?

the primers retained their round edge today.

i got some really tight groups but i had a lot of fliers. I'm going to attribute the fliers to trying my hand at free recoiling. I don't know if the cartridge or my particular rifle don't lend themselves well to it or its just my lack of experience and habits from other disciplines throwing me off.
 
Free recoil works best with wide flat fore-ends, non-sloping buttstocks, and heavy guns that don't recoil much. Not saying you can't make it work, but when I shot HBR most guys were shooting pinned, even if they shot free-recoil with their varmint rigs.
