Yaaaaaaa buddy! ;) The spine snaps and the shoulder and spinal bones blow up in all directions like shrapnel from a grenade to demolish the vitals

Many animals I have shot high shoulder litterally hit the ground like a ton of bricks the instant the bullet made impact and never even twitched a muscle. Instant DRT. Other times they may throw their head around on the ground for a few seconds and then they are done. But none of them take a step.

I hunt in Webb County, TX, not far from TexMex border, the terrain is flat, but with heavy thorny vegetation, infested with rattlers. We shoot the deer as they cross the senderos, which are the most 2 dozer blade wide. I would hate to crawl on my hands and knees to track a deer through that thick thorny vegetation. Turn OFF that switch, and you collect them with the ranch truck as they lay on the senderos. I have also killed countless Coyotes and rattlers on the property since I started hunting there in 81.

rsz_img_20181111_100322465.jpg 6.5-284 with a 143 ELD X and H1000 @ 2900 fps, walking, free hand broadside shot at 130 yards yesterday.

First time the 143 eld x has not put one on the ground right there. Heard the hit and the deer immediately ran and jumped two fences 15 yards apart but was down within 60 yards with an easy to follow blood trail.

This is the off / exit side.

I shot the 140 accubonds in my 6.5X284 until the 142 LR's came out. Now I only shoot the 142's It's like Thor's hammer on Mulies. even to 500 yds. that's the longest I've shot one with it.
I shoot 165 AB's in a .308 for Kansas White tails. and 250 AB's in a .340 Wby for Elk here in Colorado.
Going to shoot 260 AB's in a .375 Ruger for a Kamchatka Bear hunt next April.
IMO best hunting bullet made!

I want a bonded bullet. The bergers were the second worst performers i have ever tried behind barnes tsx. Ballistic tips generally never make an exit wound like the berger. Both work fine for something like a coyote but i need a deer to bleed out both sides and immediately if they move. The eld-x killed 4 last year for me but they didnt bleed a drop until they fell at least 50yds into a thicket i have to crawl into. I dont want them to leave the trail
Build a 6MM Remington and use a Sierra 85 grain hollow point BT. Deer and bear don't move with this bullet. Matt

I was looking at these as well. The 85gr. 22 cal. looked good for hogs.

I just called and got a recommendation for their 110gr Hammer Hunter for the 6.5x47 on TX whitetail & hogs from 75-500yds. Ordered 100 to try.

Gotta love & support small businesses. They offer a 10% military discount on the honor system. The website says you're "a turd" if you take the discount dishonestly. Proud to say that I'm not a turd. At least not in this context.

I agree with supporting small business, but with how well other hunting bullets have worked for me over the years, I just can't see paying that price for Hammers bullets. Pretty expensive little pills. I hope they work out well for you :)

That’s 80 for tuning and about a 10 year supply for hunting thereafter. If they work as well as I hope, I don’t mind the expense. We shall see.

I did a write up under the product review page about the 130 grain Tipped GameKing (Game Changer). Took all the popular shots (Lung, High Shoulder, High Neck, and front to back) and the bullet performed very well out to 450 yards starting at 2815 FPS. Accuracy is top notch to boot. Only had one blood trail of the four and it was real good (3 DRT). I suspect higher velocities would improve the performance even more.

I love to shoot long range deer as they cross a logging road, but if they don't drop, it's hard to find that spot where they were standing to even start looking for a blood trail... but I fixed that. I started using my 22-243AI with 80 gr Amaxes, which I built for long range coyotes... and when shot placement is in the shoulder... they always drop on the spot... with very little meat damage on either shoulder. Bullet does not pass through, but turns the insides to jello.... so.... I'd suggest light bullets... shot fast... and hit the shoulders.

PS... nice Buck 6.5 creed... good shot as well.

Codeman... what a devastating shot...WOW

My grandfather taught me how to load making that exact load. I STILL make that load for my father's 6mm Rem.

As for the 6.5-284, I use Berger 140 VLD's, taking whitetail out to 500. High shoulder shot, DRT.

Same load for 200-300lb Black Bear. I always take the heart on black bears, DRT.

My fathers 6mm Rem does the same damn thing, makes me wonder why I keep trying new cartridges...

I cannot speak to the effectiveness of either of these bullets on neck shots, never tried to shoot the neck.

Head shots on antlerless white tails however...
