6.5X284 130gr load

I want to work up a load for the berger 130 gr vld hunting bullet. In your expeirence what are some good powders to start with?

the vihtavouri powders should not be overlooked. the 6.5-284 page will guide you nicely. i just had super accuracy from the new 130gr TSX out of my swede. try `em and jump `em .035" or more. good luck.

H4350 might also be worth a try. It works well with the 139 Scenar.

I have had a few 6.5-284's and all of them have shot 130 Berger's well using RL 22.

+1 on N560, it shoots good in my Shehane!

First powder to try is R17. I am getting almost 3200 fps with Lapua case and a little over with W-W cases. Accuracy so far is as good as anything else. I have been told another powder to try is Ramshot Magnum. Ran out of time today so I didn't get to shoot it.

Mostly using 130 Norma bullets but they seem to shoot about the same as the Bergers.
