6.5MM 130 GR HPBT Matchking vs 130gr AR Hybrid?

I’ve been thinking the exact same thing. Heard about these a couple weeks ago. Have an impressive bc. Wish I could find more specs on the dimensions. Last I checked Natchezs had them in stock. I’m going to just order some and try them out. Have a 6.5 GWI that loves the 130 hybrids.

The 130 RDF has the best form factor of any bullet from Sierra, Berger, Hornady, and Nosler outside the 150smk. That is, if you trust the 0.307G7 BC value. 140-class BC at 130gr weight sounds like a possible winner to me.

Tried the 140gr RDFs once and could not get them to shoot at all while other bullets were sub 1/2 MOA. Have read and heard too many accounts of the 130gr RDFs being as finicky or worse.

The Norma 130GT is a bullet that does not get a lot of attention. Has shot well for me. Would be interesting to see it in a comparison also.

Substituted the 130gr MK with no other changes for the 130gr AR Hybrid in a few rounds and tried them at 420. Group size for the Matchkings was almost identical to the AR Hybrid, maybe a hair smaller and they hit about .1 mil higher. A quick 3 round group to verify zero was same at 100 went about .4” and had exact same POI as AR Hybrid. I think they’re going to work.

They've (the 130 SMK) not reached the UK yet. It definitely looks one to try. (Grendel and 260 Rem high-freebore in my case; 6.5X55 later when I replace a 7-08 barrel.) Good to hear you got good initial results @Hondo64d :)

The 130gr AR Hybrids shot well in my Savage 6.5 Creedmoor. Have yet to try the Sierra's.

Odd how rifles differ. The 140 RDF's combined with 6.5 StaBall are superbly accurate in my 6.5CM Savage.
