Ok I know this may be out there but can it be done? 6.5JDJ into another caliber. I know it’s already a great caliber why change but if it can I may be interested in trying it.
If you have the brass for it, I'd leave it as is cause that's about as good as it gets. Just my two cents but I like mine, a lot! There's a lot of other 6.5 wildcats that might clean up the chamber based on a 30-30 Improved case but you're not going to gain much but cases would be easier to find, you'll also have to have the extractor replaced or modified.
I was curious so I did a little research, but I can't comment on rechambering. But it seems there was a second iteration of the 6.5 JDJ using the 307 Winchester case.
Got to be careful!!! It’s a Contender frame and can’t handle high pressure cartridges.
6.5 JDJ is an amazing cartridge in the Contender.
Learn something new. Did a search on 6.5JDJ brass and found this. Did not know someone made 6.5 JDJ. Wonder if it’s any good.
