6.5cm is cratering SRP OK?

yes it was indeed first firing of starline brass, but i did FL size it, first

Why FL size new brass? Would it not chamber. FL sizing probably increased headspace even more, making the situation worse!

on midway.usa the brass has some disclaimer about the case mouths potentially being slightly out of round, and to size first. and to be completely honest, ive never neck sized before i always just FL.
is this poor practice?

no the only thing i have is a go gauge for when i installed barrel, and a micrometer for reloading
I always make sure I have some feel on the go gauge when I screw a barrel on, not force on the go but just a tad of resistance, u can measure the go gauge with a shoulder gauge and compare it to your brass your using I kind of base off that, it could be wrong but it works for me

yes, per the barrel makers instructions i did a (no- go?) gauge then put a piece of Scotch tape and the zone was supposed to be in-between there iirc.
i believe there is no indication that the barrel was installed improperly, or, were you suggesting i assess something else?

its a bit over my head since I'm novice

Not generally a poor practice but I suspect you pushed the shoulders too far back.

Catering alone won't hurt a thing but if they blank, different story. Having the bolt bushed and pin turned down cure this. Otherwise, you're pretty stuck without going much hotter and it's not gonna get better. Best bet is fix it but harder primers camouflage it a lot in some cases. Clean the bolt inside and check or replace the fp spring. Both/either MIGHT be the cause and is a cheap fix if so.
