6.5 x 47 Lapua help

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and would like to receive some input. Recently received my new 6.5x47 24" 1:8 build from SAC, on SAC alpha 2 action and would like to know where to start on reloading for it. This is what I have so far, New Lapua brass, neck turned, sized with .288 bushing and primed with BR4. I measured my chamber and will seat the bullet .010 off the lands. I have H4350 and Varget on hand. Should I try to find some vihtavuori? As for the bullets, I have 123 amax, 123 Scenar, 130 VLD and 140 Hybrids. Which one should I try first and with which powder? I will be shooting 700 yards steel for the most part. Hopefully at a later time will enter some competition.

Any input will be appreciated.

38 grs. Varget, 130 Berger VLD, BR-4 primer! It'll do this quite regular-like from 1000 yds. The head of the bolt holding the plate on is 1 3/4" and I've shot it completely off twice. This is 15 rounds.

With the 123 Scenars try VARGET: 37.0 to 38.7 grs.. With the 130 VLD's: 36.5 to 38.2grs

For whatever reason Scenars, from my experience, like it somewhere between 10 and 20K INTO THE LANDS.. The Berger 130 VLD's generally like to be 10-15K into the lands..

With 140 Hybrids and H4350: 39.0 to 40.5 grs with the Hybrids seated 15K off the lands...

With all these bullets, where I said they LIKE it>>they "usually do".. That does NOT mean your rifle will.. Just START with those seating depths and then do ladder tests to find out where YOUR barrel shoots them best..
