6.5 X 47 L Feeding Problem

I have a Lawton 7000 action, Brownells bottom metal, spring, and follower. It is a BDL. My question is,the bolt just barely catches on the edge of the round to push it forward but most of the time hops over it and it doesn't feed. I have tried adjusting the mag lips to see if that is it but with no luck yet. Not sure if it is the follower. Any help is appreciated.

it is possible that the receiver may have to be machined to get the bullet to seat a little higher in the box. i have done this to some rem. actions to achieve feeding . The Rifler

More than likely a spring issue. You need a little more pressure on the back of the case. Move the spring back on the follower and/or the floorplate first. If that doesn't help, open the middle fold in the spring a little.

Thanks for the replies. I tried adjusting the spring, but yes, if it had more pressure to the rear of the case it would feed better. If that doesn't work, opening up the action just a smidge is my next move. We shall see.
