Yes. NEVER try and anneal the lower section of any rifle case. The lower portion of cases are hardened and need to remain that way. Annealing the lower half in any can get dangerous very quickly.Mechdraw said:Do you mean just around the shoulder and neck?

The cases were new unfired until I fired them for the first time with the above load.
Some cases will fit back in with no hard/tight closing feel on the bolt (firing pin and spring removed) and some I have to assist the bolt in closing (firm).
The fired cases that will not fit back in I full length sized and shot again with the same issues.
