6.5 wssm

I had Dave Kiff build me a 6.5 Roug, it has a 37 degree sholder and and a blown out body, chambered it one time and fire formed some cases and reloaded until the case closed to hard to shoot, never ordered dies gave up on the Idea until I read some of the forum stuff here, so know my thoughts are to send in the reamer and take the 37 degree sholder cut it back to 35 and buy full length bushing dies for a 25 wssm and just use a bigger bushing and simplifie the dies. Any thoughts or conserns?

I think that will work,,imho) as long as your shoulder diameter is not pushed out also. Have been considering a 6.5 WSSM for my next project, since there have been many POSITIVE reports.,do "search" here and benchrest.com ) IE: a few 6.5 WSSM contributors: 6.5FAN,won 2005 World Open w/6.5 wssm), mikecr,Boyd Heaton, Bill K, billbrawand, tillroot1, Kevin Weaver,Steve Sterner,Martin Dailey. Please keep us posted.

I've been shooting the 260 Rogue,37 degree shoulders) using 243 Lapua brass necked up. This is one of the most accurate calibers I have and shoots just awesome.
Now on the 6.5 wssm that your talking about, the WSSM brass is just to thick and becomes way to hard and doesn't reform as well. This was a no-no move for Winchester.,desperate move to say the least). is there a reason u didn't use the WSM brass? I hear very good reports with the 6.5 WSM in a 1-8 barrel. Take a look of the two and there's noticeably a difference in thickness of the two. Matter of fact Chris Mathews,Long Shot Rifles) and Nathan Dagley,SSG) have made a few of the 6.5 WSM's and matter of fact I have my eye on one right now made by Chris Mathews.

Hope things work fine for you and your decision.

7mm- The 6.5wssm is a great round for shooting 1000yd shoots. Martin and I have the neck diameters at .300 for our reamers. I use the 243wssm case. Martin aka 6.5fan uses the 25wssm case. You will have to anneal brass frequently. This is not a problem for me as I like to anneal frequently anyhow. If you try going the route of a 6.5wsm you will find that barrels won't last long. Especially at places like williamsport where they shoot a 10 shot string+sighters.
