6.5 Swede bolt face

Asking for my brother but he has a Howa 1500 and needs the bolt face opened up to handle Lapua brass. Has been using domestic brass for several years with no issue but most of the Lapua won’t eject. I would think this would be a pretty straightforward job but was wondering if anything else would be involved like maybe the ejector? And also hoping to just send the bolt. I believe the rifle was originally a 30-06.

you could 'shave' rebate the rims a bit of the lapua 6,5 brass. leave the bolt intact

The Lapua brass is made for a control feed claw extractor, plus the head is bigger. Some actions can take the diameter but the extractor groove is too narrow for others. Anyone that rebates BR cases to use with a PPC boltface can "fix" the Lapua brass, both diameter and extractor groove.

Open the boltface by about .005 and it will be fine, and still work with .470" cartridges as well. Now, I'm assuming the recess is tight enough that the case won't tip out of the bolt. If this is not the case, ignore everything I said. WH

That’s what I gather from talking to him. I think he would like the bolt face opened up to accommodate the Lapua brass. Now, I’m sure about any Smith could do this but would like someone local to Kentucky. Thanks for the suggestions.
