6.5 saum

I'm re-barreling a 270 wsm to a 6.5 saum and can't find any 6.5 saum casings anywhere. My question is it possible to reform a 270 wsm to 6.5 saum. The action is a rem 700 sa.

You have to form 6.5 SAUM brass from the parent case-7mm or 300 SAUM brass.

Check over on 24hourcampfire or sniperhide forums. A few guys are running them on these forums . One of the guys shows his case forming process with a few pictures.

Don't know if this helps but I have a 6.5 wsm and I use 270 wsm brass and neck down ,clean up the necks and i'm good to go. I would think if you used 270 saum brass and necked down as long as your chamber is sami and just necked down to 6.5

There isn't 270 SAUM brass as far as factory headstamp.

Saum brass has been hard to come by for 2 years, timing is everything

Copper Creek may be your best bet, but get the limit on your credit card upped.

Sling is right don't believe there is 270 saum factory brass I had wsm on the brain, might consider 6.5wsm option, little easier necking down brass and availability alittle better.
