new rifle was hoping for some starting points with powders. going to shoot 130-142 bullets.

Go to the hodgden powder site and they have free reloading imfo for everything.They rep their own powder and winchester and imr.I go there all the time to print out what I cant find elsewhere.

this is a wildcat there is no info for a 6.5 saum. wish there was for starting points.

What bullet do you plan to use and what cartridge overall length do you need? Do you plan to load single or feed through a magazine? Hard to give you any ideas without knowing the bullet and how deep it will be seated into the case.

Ran the numbers through Quick Load assuming an overall cartridge length of 2.925
and using a Sierra 142 Gr. Match king . 58.5Gr's. Rl-25, 60Gr's. H-1000, 60Gr's. Norma-MRP2, 61Gr's Ramshot Big Boy Magnum, 64Gr's VV-N570. Obviously due to the internal capacity of the SAUM case, slower powders are suggested to give you an adequate fill ratio. As always these are suggested points derived at through an internal ballistics program. Use caution during your load development. Good Luck with the new piece.

tony, I am not limited by lenght the reamer is set for 142 sierras bullet at the bottom of the neck. some were close to that. I am puting it on a 700 long action ultra action. have neck a case down. lenght is no problem.

can you run a starting load for hogdon v-100 and vit n-165 also rl 17. was hoping you guy have tryed this. thanks for the warning about starting low. I am quite experianced in loading and shooting. was just hoping to get some guy that have tried this round.
