6.5 REMINGTON MAGNUM

DOES ANY ONE SHOOT A 660 REMINGTON?if so what laods do you use for deer?was looking to shoot the 100 gain bullets out of mine.thanks for your imput

That would be a good weight to try. I think your rifle is a 9 twist. I imagine the short barrel will be brutal. I shoot 100's in a 6mm 600. And I'm trying 90-100gr in a 6.5 Creedmoor now. I am trying factory Nosler 90, Hornaday 95, and I have some Sierra 100's on the way. So far the Noslers are ¾" at 100yds.

From the factory twist rate list:

6.5 Remington Magnum - 1 in 9"...Rem 600, 660, 700; Ruger 77

This barrel is 20".

I've been using the Nosler E-Tip bullets on several short barreled rifles recently. The velocity for the 6.5 Rem. Mag. will be lower due to the increased length of the solid bullet. The 20" barrels will yield 3250+ approximately using Re-17.
