6.5 PRC 130 Accubond loads

Anyone have any data in the 6.5 PRC and 130 accubonds they wouldn't mind sharing? I have H1000, RL-26, and H4831 on hand. Not sure how well RL-17 would do, I haven't seen much for data with 17 out there.

While I have not loaded 130 ABs, I have loaded other weights that will help you.
First, my basic components are Hornady brass, WLR or 210M primers, 7.5 tw, 30" barrel, loaded .02 off for an oal of 3.05 with 140 and up bullets. I use case head expansion and visual signs as pressure limits.
RL 26 gives about 50fps over H 1000 but burns hotter
Both give about the same accuracy.
RL 17 gives high velocity with, 107 SMK, and 85 hammers.
H 1000 gives about 3200 with 60gr and 140 Berger Hybrids.
H1000 gives about 3100 with 59gr and SMK 150s
RL26 gives about 3500 with 60gr and 123 hammer absolutes.
Load RL 26 about 2.5-3 grs less than H1000 for equal weight bullets
Summary of a lengthy reply.
Try either H1000 or RL26 starting about 54gr of H1000 with your 130 accubonds or 51gr of RL26 and work up. You may have to modify this if you have a short or long chamber, different brass, etc.
My guess is you will get 3200-3300 depending on your barrel length and twist.
Hope this helps.

No idea on case capacity it’s Hornady brass.

I would load some with very conservative loads of H1000 and work up. If you can't read pressure signs, call Nosler for help or buy one of their reloading manuals. It sounds like you want more definite answers than people can give you. The numbers I gave you in my previous post were from a 30" barrel and your velocities will be lower from a 24". Do you have experience reloading?
I assumed you did but if not you must learn. Hopefully, some experienced reloader can help you.

Bill-
I have the most recent nosler manual. I guess I was more or less interested to find out if anyone else has had success with the 130 accubond and powders mentioned. I just want to be as effiecent has possible during load development with the current times we are seeing with supply issues. Yes I have a reloading background, this won't be my first rodeo.

Sounds like you are good to go. What loads of h1000. and rl26 do they list and what is your throat length? Both of these have worked well for me in other bullets.
I assume this is a hunting load so you need accuracy and velocity.
You are preaching to the choir regarding conservation of components. I have stopped almost all experimentation with loads.
Let me know what the nosler manual says.
Thanks
Bill

26 and 17 most likely will be your best powders. 17 & 130 gr bullets will get speed, basically if you have a load for the 130 AB using H4350 , you can substitute RL-17. You can drop down a grain and work up but I haven't seen a problem yet. Normally I can get very accurate loads with RL-17 and 26.

Do you have any experience loading RL17 in 140 class bullets? I have loaded it in 85 and 107s with good success but not in the heavier weights. I have 5# I bought years ago for another project.
Thanks
Bill

Larry do you happen to have any resources showing the data with rl17. I am not sure I have seen any published by nosler or alliant?
