6.5 Nosler

Anyone have comments about the Nosler 140 RDF bullets for use in the 6.5 RPR? Looking for a bullet for ranges out to 1000 yards and accurate at shorter ranges 100-300 matches. Load data using H4350, CCI BR2 primers and Norma cases. Thanks to all that respond - good and bad comments.

I’ve never shot rdf bullets, but I like eld match and eld-xs though…

My bullet preferences are 1) Berger 156, 2) Berger 144, 3) Beger 140, 4) Sierra 142 SMK, and 5) Hornady 147 ELDM. I never got the consistency I wanted from RDFs. I am note sure what 6.5 you shoot but I shoot 6.5x47, 6.5 CM and 6.5 SAUM. H4350 is the go-to powder for the smaller cases. I shoot SRPs and typically ue CCI 450s.

I have shot 140 Nosler out of an AR10 24" barrel 6.5 CM with RL 26 at 2962 fps. They always seem a little faster. I shoot 150 SMK and 147 ELDM mostly for both the bolt action and the AR 10...but spent most of the time on the AR. H4340 is accurate, but accuracy and speed are available with other powders. My standard AR 10 load is 150 SMK at 2842 fps capable of .5" 5 shots 10.1 S/D. The 140 Nosler 2858 fps 5 - .689"
147 ELDM 2821 fps ave. I have accurate marked on load data for several loads with Nosler RDF, you'll have to try them and see. 41.5 to 41.7 gr H4350 is a good place to look for accuracy in 6.5 CM, But the velocity is elsewhere. I have both the Ruger precision rifle and an AR 10. Abruptly stopped with the 6.5 mm and went to the 6 ARC and 6 Dasher... no reason just for fun.

RDF is a decent bullet I’d put them ahead of ELD’s at this point.
I’m not sure what Hornandy did to the ELD but I’m not buying any more now.

Since Bergers are impossible to find - How about the Sierra 142 SMK for the 6.5 Creedmoor out of a Ruger RPR. Anywhere they are in stock? Good load data using H4350 and BR2 primers?
