6.5 Norma 130 grain accuracy

I have read several very good reviews on the Norma Golden Target line of bullets. Looks like a great value at about 27.00 per 100 . Anyone care to share their experience with the 130 gr 6.5 Norma Golden Target bullet? Thanks for any and all responses, good or bad!:D:D

Great value and solid results. Shot a few thousand in a 600 yard gun.Never shot it past 600.

It was very jump tolerant and seemed to like the 0.025 to 0.035 range. BTO seemed to float from lot to lot (similar to sierra and berger).

Where did you see them for that price

Have shot then to 1000 with good results in 6.5x55. I was not satisfied with the accuracy with slower powders but checked with Norma and they recommended going with a faster powder. With R15/203B results were a lot better. Rifle, Sauer STR.

Love them, but they need a ton of freebore.

That ^^^^. Was getting good results with them in my x47 until I started developing donuts. Didn't have enough freebore to seat the bearing surface ahead of the N/S junction so switched to the 130 AR Hybrids. Planned on getting back to the several 1000 I had/have on hand with the next barrel, but even with a longer freebore, they were still seating in the N/S junction slightly. Figured no big deal, I'll run 500 or so rounds of something else until the throat wears forward a bit and get back to them... But the 140 Hybrids are shooting so well in this barrel that I've not made the switch back.

Also, for some reason they don't agree with the seating stem in my Forester micrometer seating die. They tended to bind it up and produce a lot of run out. Sent the die and some bullets back to Forester for evaluation. They said that the shape/angle of the bullet ogive didn't work well with the seating stem and caused the stem to 'bell' outwards and push/bind against the die body. They modified the stem and sent it back. It worked better, but still seats roughly and produces more runout that the Hybrids for me.

I have found this with a couple of other bullets as well. But after sending dummies off to Forster, they returned them in fine working condition. Good Service. Now I send dummies off to Whidden and have them make the dies first and I don't have any more 'there and back again'. I still like the Forster's a lot but sometimes they need adjustments and the company is happy to help out.

I've been using the Norma Golden Targets for years, ever since Neco first started carrying them. Then the pipeline went dry until recently when several sources started to offer them. I got a substantial batch from Midway through a misunderstanding about a back order but it worked out well as I now have lots of bullets to shoot! They perform great in the 6.5x47 Lapua and the 6.5 Creedmoor. Currently I'm using them for tests in the 6.5 PRC While I'm waiting for some of the other bullets to show up.
