6.5 Grendel

I know there are random bits of info out there for Grendel loaders. I'm yet another who found a great load with CFE223. I'm using range 7.62x39 brass that I've sized to 6.5 Grendel and fire formed.

For those interested, the fire-form loads are very accurate, I use 29.0 BL(c)-2, a CCI 200 and 85gr Sierra seated to 2.240. Feeds great and gives 2700fps from a 20" barrel.

I then loaded more CCI200s, and load tested from 26-30.5gr of CFE with a Sierra 120MK seated to 2.255 (magazine depth). I found a nice node around 29gr +/-.5gr and will work further. There was another at a lower charge of 27.5gr. I started seeing flatter primers (60°F weather) at 30gr, so naturally work up, but yet more data for Grendel is a good thing. Oh, this is an Alexander chamber/barrel on a gas-gun.

Nope; it's been doing great at 29 grains and I'm getting plenty of practice. I'm almost out of 120 Sierras. Next will be 107s and 123s.

I'm keeping the 142s for the Creedmoor.

What velocity are you seeing fm 29.0 CFE and 120 Sierras? I run 31.7 and 123 Nosler CC's at 2550 fm 20" Bartlein, 2515 fm AR319 Lilja and 2650 fm 24" Satern.

Ehh, faster than I can see and it makes a sonic crack. That's good enough right? I haven't chrono'd; I'll try to set that up next trip out.

29.0 just seems to be a low node. ES/SD for your load when you're able.
