6.5 Grendel Match reamer

building a 6.5 grendel benchrest bolt gun and was wondering if anyone has any advice on who has the best match reamer out there. thanks

When you say "the best match reamer", do you mean:

1. The best quality cutting tool?

or

2. The best reamer design?

If it's #1 above, then I would say with reamers you typically get what you pay for in terms of quality for the price. If it's #2, then I would say the Grendel design done by Bill Alexander that had a .295" neck with the two step throating that started out with a 1/2Ëšleade then transitioned to a 1 1/2Ëšleade. I found this design to be much better in terms of consistent accuracy and velocity than the other designs out there that have a straight 1 1/2Ëšthroat angle. Since the Grendel has received SAAMI approval, the design I just noted may be available from certain sources.

I know this reply is long past the needs of the OP since he has likely already finished his project.

Manson Reamers ()http://www.mansonreamers.com/ makes reamers to the SAAMI specifications for the 6.5 Grendel. They did an excellent job on my Grendel-based wildcat.

You can read about the SAAMI chamber and how it got that way by looking over the newly published 6.5 Grendel Reloading Handbook. You can see a preview at http://shootersnotes.com/pictures/First20Grendel.jpg and find sources for the handbook on that page.
