6.5 Grendel load data

Has anyone used R15 in a grendel. I have a good supply of R15

I don't use it because I don't have any to try. I have a bunch of 8208xbr so that's what I use. I found this R15 info and many others that list it as a powder that works. If you have a good supply I would work up a load and see if it shoots.

I use H335, which is usually available. The R15 might be a bit slow.

yep, RL15 is to slow, there are betters powders out there for the 6.5GRRR, I personally have tried about 10 different powders for my rifles, I get the best performance from AR Comp, with the 123gn bullets, I run 27.2gns of Comp out of my 24'' tubes I get around 2600fps and 2500fps from 18'' tubes, with the same loads, this 1 combo shoots extremely well from all 4 of my 6.5GRRR tubes, I could probably run 27.5gns but I get 3/4 in groups @200m from my 24'' barrels and tic over an 1'' from my18'' barrels. I blame that on different reticules the circle of death vs a cross hair YMMV

I loaded 28.0 of R15 with a 130 grain Matchking and it chronograph at 2315 4 5 groups at .5 and under
Ruger predator 22" barrel

Seems similar to what varget achieves. Not sure what you plan to do with it but if it shoots that good, then keep it.

For more fps, leverolution, cfe223, ar comp, 8208 are probably the favorites.

I have used Benchmark--8208--Lever evol-CFE 223-Varget--They all shoot very well--for velocity the ball powders have been the best

I don't remember if I had tried benchmark I have some .when it gets warm again ,likely in April i'll get out for some more testing . LVR with 95 gr work great . have used h335 with 120 gr shooting out to 400 yd that was fun

It works simular to AR- comp. Try it with Sierra 107s it works great!

I like benchmark for the lighter pills like the 100 ttsx.
